Ten 12 & Under Schroeder Athletes have raced to National AAA Times this weekend or previously to qualify to participate in the 2012 Central Zone Championships to be held next weekend in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is one of the largest contingents produced by the Age Group portion of the squad! Congratulations to: Isaac Jiardini, Grace Gavronski, Alex Jernberg, Seth Johnson, Justin Liang, Caleb Saffold, Kailey Carbone, Megan Hartlieb, Owen Hallmark, and Talia Gottlieb - great job!
Six years to the day that Chris Meyers established the former team record in the 400 Meter IM for 11/12 Boys, Isaac reset the record lowering it to 5:16.16 - about 10 seconds! congrats!

35 supporters of the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center and its programs gathered at the home of Suzanne and Andy Hall to hear the details of the 2012 Olympic Capital Campaign. The WSAC will be offering a lifeguarding class in August. People interested in the class should email Lindsay Newport. You can only take the class if you intend to lifeguard at the WSAC (it can be very limited hours). The class will not run unless we have at least 6 participants. It will be: August 11 & 12, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM August 18 & 19, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Cost is $70 (includes lifeguard, first aid, cpr pro/aed)

Over the past 4 years the WSAC has subcontracted lifeguard services through the YMCA. Starting on September 1st, we will no longer be using the YMCA's service for this. Please spread the word to your family and friends that we are currently accepting applications for lifeguard positions at the WSAC. It is preferred that applicants are already certified in lifeguarding but we are planning to run a training in late August for people who are not currently certified.
