Jeff's mom reported today that Jeff is doing much better. The goal is to be walking by 8/15 and back to swim in October! Stay Strong Jeff!
Over the past 4 years the WSAC has subcontracted lifeguard services through the YMCA. Starting on September 1st, we will no longer be using the YMCA's service for this. Please spread the word to your family and friends that we are currently accepting applications for lifeguard positions at the WSAC. It is preferred that applicants are already certified in lifeguarding but we are planning to run a training in late August for people who are not currently certified. Schroeder swimmers Rachel Thomas, MJ Voss, Ari Sparapani and Sydney Hallmark all raced in a sprint Tri this weekend in Cedarburg. Rachel and MJ won their respective age groups!
Schroeder finished with two more scores at opposite ends of the race spectrum. Kimmy Roos swam a strong mile narrowly missing the sub-18:00 mark and she finished 16th overall. Abi Raatz swam to 6th place in the 50 M free with new best time of 26.75 - great meet!

Alex defended her 2011 win tonight in the 200 m free with a time of 2:04.98! Congrats!
Alex led the way for Schroeder tonight at the Section 1 Championships finishing 4th in the 100 M Free with a final time of 57.50 and Kimmy Roos scored a 16th place finish in the 800 M Free with a 9:24.88! Ten athletes are racing here at the University of Iowa's facility and the squad includes Abigail Raatz, Khia Kurtenbach, Alex Meyers, Meghan Casey, Kimmy Roos, Brad Cowan, Lucas Kuriga, Casey Murphy, Noah Oldson, and Bill Wong.
Gwen raced to 2nd place at the Twin Cities based Lifetime Fitness Tri. This is a non-drafting bike segment unlike the Olympic format. Gwen had excellent transitions, the fastest run and a strong swim. Thumbs up for London on 8/4 at 9:00 AM local time. results
