Over the weekend, Schroeder raced at the Western Great Lakes Open held by the Lake Country Phoenix. This competition brings in some of the best teams from Wisconsin and the Midwest. Schroeder took first place overall backed by the tremendous team spirit and energy displayed throughout the meet. Schroeder has been recognized by the America Swimming Coaches Assn as one of the USA's Top Age Group programs. based on Top 20 Individual USA National Rankings for 9/10 and 11/12 year old athletes.

Over the weekend, Schroeder was well represented on Team Wisconsin at Open Water Zone Championships at Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prairie! The water was a brisk 67 degrees and saw many great performances from the Midwest Zone! The distances raced were: 1.25k, 2.5k, and 5k! This Spring, YMCA member-athletes competed at the three National YMCA meets. 22 divers traveled to Fort Lauderdale’s International Swimming Hall of Fame pools, 31 boys and girls traveled to the Greensboro Aquatic Center and 44 adults raced at the Fort Lauderdale complex as well. There is a serious competitive piece to these youth programs but our coaches keep foremost that these are some of the YMCA’s best programs to develop strong character skills in youth and set them up for success in college and for life. Schroeder YMCA brought a great crew of 50 Masters athletes to compete at YMCA Masters Nationals in beautiful Fort Lauderdale! The meet was held at the newly rennovated Hall of Fame pool! This year was extra special because we raced for Schroeder legend and amazing human being, Geoff Mykelby! Geoff is a staple of Schroeder, Masters Swimming and the overall swimming community. As a team, Schroeder placed 4th overall. The women's team placed 5th and the men took home 3rd. See you all there next year!! We are Schroeder!
