Schroeder had a great team showing at the 11 & Under State Championship this weekend! We finished 3rd overall as a team and had many team and individual awards! The 11 year old girls finished 1st overall and both the 10 and 11 year old boys finished 2nd overall. Grant Burrall - completed his attempt to cross the English Channel - minimum distance of 21 miles 66 degree water temp.  His time was 10 hours and 8 min. Grant grew up swimming at Schroeder, married a Schroeder swimmer (Anna Carollo) and has two children on the team.

  2016 Olympian Hali Flickinger who was a star for the York YMCA broke one of the most historic athletic records in prelims this morning at the USA National Championships.  In 1981, 16 year old Mary T Meagher set one of the greatest marks in all of sport swimming a 2:05.96.  This morning Hali touched the wall at 2:05.87.  28 years have passed since this former world record and current US Open record was done.   View the archived footage here: read the release from USA Swim

The Schroeder YMCA Swim Team has been recognized as a Silver Medal Club again by USA Swimming based on results from the 2015 year.  USA Swimming's Club Excellence program is a measuring stick that compare's all of USA Swimming's member clubs in 18 & U perfromance.  Schroeder remains one of USA Swimming's top 100 teams of about 2500 in the US but fell about 35 spots this year.  Schroeder has been a Silver Medal Club after a year at the Bronze Medal level when the program was begun more than 10 years ago....
