Great night for SSTY at the O triple C! Steve (19.6)won the shoot out and Adam was runner up (19.9). Adam was 2nd in the back 46.6, Nick 5th 49.8 Kevin was 10th 51.4 and Ashlyn was 2nd with a 56.5. Meghan finished 10th in the 200 br 2:25.1and Cassy grabbed 4th in the 500 at 4:54. Nick added a 3rd in the IM at 1:49.9 and Connor was 20.6 in the first rnd of the shoot out. Seven clubs have achieved the Gold Medal level for the first time this year …Aquazot Swim Club, Asphalt Green, Clearwater Aquatic Team, Dayton Raiders, Nitro Swimming, Pleasanton Seahawks, and York YMCA. Of the record 346 teams that submitted applications for this year’s program, 88 clubs met the criteria for Gold Medal eligibility and an additional 107 clubs were eligible for the Silver level. Schroeder enjoyed a solid night at the pool today. Ashlyn Schoof doubled with two fine efforts in the B final 200 Free 1:53.5 and 58.06 in the fly. Meg swam a great 100 Br in the B final with a 1:06.6, Kevin swam a 1:42.2 best time in the 200 and Steve finished in the money 2nd at 1:38. Adam set a new team record in the fly and his first time under 47.0 in the fly finishing 2nd with a 46.77. Cass was 1:56 in the C final....
The Schroeder athletes in Oklahoma City, OK are off to a great start at the Chesapeake Energy Pro-Am Elite Meet. Cassandra Jernberg set new team and state records in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:01.54 and the men's 4 x 50 MR narrowly missed the team and state record by .02. The relay of Adam 22.0, Steve 25.6, Nick 22.3 and Kevin 20.8 finished with a big lead but just a fraction off the record. Schroeder has some excellent swims tomorrow so stay tuned!
Great job parents and athletes for hosting a well-run meet and racing so well in this weekend's meet. The meet ran smoothly and efficiently (like normal). Athletes made good gains and capped a fall of inreasingly larger meets. Coaches of younger swimmers all observed big positive changes in skill development, fitness and speed. Steve, Mitchell and Adam will race the 100 yard free at the at&t Winter Nationals today, Saturday. Mitch and Steve are back in the B final with 43.6 & .8
Adam and Mitchell are back int he 100 Back tonight at the 2012 USA Swimming Winter National Championships. Mitchell is the 2nd seed in the A final and Adam is the 9th seed leading the way in the B Final.
