14 year old record breakers Ashlyn Schoof and Cassandra Jernberg did soe work at the 2013 Big Cheese. Schoof led off the 4 x 100 MR in record time and followed up later with another team reocrd setting effort in the 200 M Back. Both swims eclipsed Sarah Henry's 2005 efforts. Cass Jernberg broke her own team reocrd and erased a very old Annabelle Cripps Sate Record in the 800 M Free and qualified for the 2013 World Championship Trials! See the records and congrats girls!

USA Swimming adopted rules proposed by it's Safe Sport Committee in September at the USAS Convention around bullying and how USA Swimming Teams should address bullying if it occurs. A group of senior Schroeder athletes reviewed USA Swimming suggested language and made some revisions and suggestions which are incorpartated into this document which will be used to guide the WSAC and all of it's participants.
Today, the senior girls came over and we made fleece blankets and stationary for cancer patients at Children's Hospital. It was a lot of fun!
Wednesday Morning Water Polo Beginning January 9, 2013 we will pilot a Wednesday morning polo program for three weeks. If there is enough interest we will continue to offer the program but we will need a minimum of 9 players showing up weekly. Wendy Frank will be coordinating the program. Play will begin at 6:00 AM and will conclude at 7:00 AM. Athletes should be competent swimmers but do not have to have experience playing or have ball skills. It was a great finish to a great meet here in Oklahoma City at the 21st annual Pro-Am Elite Meet put on by host Chesapeake Swim Club. Our team has enjoyed success at this unique winter classic but 2012 was probably the best in the Schroeder squad's 14 year history of attending. 4 state records, 12 team records, 2 meet records, 4 events won, Steve and Adam both won $1800 in prize money. The Men were 2nd overall and in the Combined Team Score Schroeder finished 3rd. ...
Great night for SSTY at the O triple C! Steve (19.6)won the shoot out and Adam was runner up (19.9). Adam was 2nd in the back 46.6, Nick 5th 49.8 Kevin was 10th 51.4 and Ashlyn was 2nd with a 56.5. Meghan finished 10th in the 200 br 2:25.1and Cassy grabbed 4th in the 500 at 4:54. Nick added a 3rd in the IM at 1:49.9 and Connor was 20.6 in the first rnd of the shoot out. Seven clubs have achieved the Gold Medal level for the first time this year …Aquazot Swim Club, Asphalt Green, Clearwater Aquatic Team, Dayton Raiders, Nitro Swimming, Pleasanton Seahawks, and York YMCA. Of the record 346 teams that submitted applications for this year’s program, 88 clubs met the criteria for Gold Medal eligibility and an additional 107 clubs were eligible for the Silver level.
