  Dear Schroeder Families- You may already be following the news about the current facilities proposal by UW Rec Sports. The Rec Sports plan not only effects the UW Swim & Dive team’s future, but also the greater Wisconsin swimming community. To bring many of you up to speed, Rec Sports will be bringing a referendum to vote in early March. One session to go!  The big news is a new meet, team, state reorod and PR for Hannah Saiz in the 200 fly.  Hannah will be the top seed in the finals at 1:55.95.  Joining her in the finals: Khia and Chandler, Nick, Ellis, and Adam in the 200 Back.  Alex in the 100 Free, Hannah and Adam in the 50 Fly and then SSTY has three 4 x 50 Free relays.

Schroeder finished third in Women's, Men's and Combined Team scoring at the Chesapeake Swim Club Pro-Am - a first for the team to have such balanced results.  Tonight's results we strong again for almost everyone:   200 Back:  Khia bettered her prelim effort with a 2:08, as were the guys: Chandler to 1:56.1, Nick to 1:48.6, Adam, 1:45.5 and Ellis won at 1:42.9 which should be good enough to make the NCAA meet.   100 Free:  Danille got a surprise swim from 2nd alternate but was ready to go and...

SSTY got several swimmers thru including Nick in the im, Gwen and Meghan in the 2 breast, Nick, Adam and Ellis in the back, Jake and Alex in the 50 shoot out, and Alex and Danielle in the 500! Good but long session.

  Schroeder enjoyed a very good finals session on Saturday.  It began with Alex racing in the first round of the Shootout where she swam a strong 23.3 and then Jake raced to a 20.7.  Niether advanced but both swam faster than in prelims.  Nick swam to a 3rd place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:50.19.  Next up were Meghan and Gwen in the A final of the 200 Breast.  Both were just of their prelim swims but they both had two great races 2:22 (7th)...

Friday's final session was strong for Schroeder!  Two team records were broken:  Hannah bested her 100 yd fly record with a 53.9 and Gwen recorded a 1:03.0 in the breast.  The men (Adam, Nick, Jake and Chandler) won the 4 x 100 Free Relay with a 3:03 and there were several other significant swims.   Alex improved her prelim time in the 200 and raced to a 1:48 in the final, Danielle swam well in the C and improved to 1:53.1.  Meghan Casey went a little faster in the 100...
