SSTY enjoyed a good first session at the 2014 National YMCA Championship Meet this moring. We have several finalists: Nick Petersen is the 2nd seed inthe 100 Fly, Gwen Worlton broke her own team record in the 200 Breast (2:16.5) and is 4th, Alex Meyers is 7th in the 50 Free and Ashlyn is in the consols of the 200 Fly. The girls / women put together a solid 4 x 50 Fr Relay and are in the top eight. That relay is Alex, Ashlyn, Carolyn Jungers and Jade Knuepple....

One way to measure how "good" a USA Swimming team is by acheivement at the highest levels. Schroeder has been at the Silver level for some time and scoring system has evolved over time but the underlying idea is focssed on top swimmers at the Junior and National level here's the info More about the program
Diver Nathan Cox scored on 10M for Purdue at the 2014 NCAA Championship and is Schroeder's most recent NCAA All American. Congrats!

The great Lindsey Highstrom's 1996 100 M fly record was taken down early in this LCM season by Hannah Saiz at a LCM sectional tonight in Indy. 1:01.7. Looking forward to the 200 fly tomorrow and out to Irvine at the end of the summer! Added 3/29: Hannah bettered a Shari Countryman record in the 200 Fly posting a 2:14.58 tonight in Indy. Tow big names come off the board. Only 8+ seconds to go for a WSAC pool record!

The 2014 WI YMCA State meet capped a great short course season for many of the athletes and their families. The meet went off without a hitch due to lots of expereinced helping hands (thank you all and congrats) and the team was very successful - Schroeder shined across all age groups all weekend.
