Good Work Everywhere
I traveled to the Ramirez Aquatic Center yesterday evening to check in and see the groups train. I was so pleased and want to share my comments to all of our coaches.
I wanted to say that as I watched your groups last evening I was struck by the overall tone of training.
Phil - had a coherent theme of rehearsing and teaching about 200 race strategy which is a team-wide theme, Wendy and Sydney and Caleb had her group moving with the use of catechisms, accountability, and with safety in mind. Chandler’s and Alicia’s groups were well attended - when I checked practice attendance on the On Deck App very few from the three groups were missing - and then strong specific training themes that asked for engagement combined with low intensity.
not surprising but very impressive.
We used to talk about the McDonalds analogy. Where no matter where you go in the world a Two Cheeseburger Meal is the same.
That we all have shared language like Michael’s Catechisms, or how to execute a 200 free and that we are all on the same page when it comes to our Schroeder Way and putting the development of the athlete as the primary goal makes our team so much stronger. We know that we are on the right path when it comes making great people and very skilled athletes faster.
Taking time from my group’s scheduled practice is tough but it was well worth it for sure to see your whole operation working so smoothly and well.
Good good work!
