Reopening as of 5/19/21
Thank you to those who participated in the survey regarding your comfort with reopening. Based on the results of the surveys, guidance from local health departments and the CDC, as well as the increasing availability of vaccine and decreasing infection rates, the following updates for Schroeder athletes and families will begin on Wednesday, 5/19.
-
The resumption of full locker room use can begin for all groups. Returning locks to lockers at WSAC, changing and showering are all now ok for all groups. Youth, with their parents’ permission, may use the locker rooms. Staff will not be able to help supervise who is using or not and parents are encouraged to set the guidelines for their athlete.
-
Masking & Distancing while at the pool and not in training. Masking & distancing will remain in place while indoors and not swimming or diving until local health departments or school districts where our facilities are located remove these guidelines.
-
At WSAC - vaccinated persons do not have to mask or distance while indoors
-
At Aug Prep - no changes in masking
-
Nicolet HS - no changes to existing policies
-
South Milwaukee - no changes to existing policies
-
Cudahy - no changes to existing policies
-
Conduct of Swim Training. Changes in training will begin to come into effect. Athletes may train from one end with more than 2 resting at a wall. Barriers between lanes will be removed.
-
Parent requests to be honored. If you are uncomfortable with having your child using the locker room or training in a pre pandemic way, please let your child’s coach know. Coaches will make accommodations for these athletes in training. You can choose to have your child not use the locker room to change or shower and continue to mask.
For all of us this is a strange time after the past year but it sure feels like we are all moving in the right direction now. Thank you for your continued support.
