Good Day 1 at Speedo Sectional
Schroeder enjoyed a good first day at the 2014 Speedo Section 1 Championships in Iowa City. The team is in 4th place in combined scoring behind Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northwestern, the men are 18th and the women are second to Wisconsin.
Two team records were made today. Kaylyn Schoof took the 11/12 girls 100 Free record (Alex Meyers) and Katie Hayes erased a very old Katie Hazelwood - early 80's - 13/14 200 Breast.
Hannah Saiz won the 200 Fly and Ashlyn Schoof grabbed 4th and Rina Krupsky dropped time from prelims in her eveing swim. Nick Petersen and Carl Newenhouse turned in good swims in the B Final of the 100 Free. Alex and Ashlyn and Abigail swam well in the 100 Free, Carolyn Jungers swam a strong 200 Breast with Gwen Worlton. And Daniel Kudis scored in the 800 earlier in the day.
