6th Annual Swim for Freedom
The 6th Annual Swim 4 Freedom will be held Sunday Aug, 3rd 2013. I want to thank all of you who participated and/or supported our event last year. If you are interested in joining us again this year please visit our website www.swim4freedom.org and fill out and email back your entry form. There is no cost again this year to enter but we ask that each participant raise at least $300 for their swim – your supporters can donate here http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/steele-whowell/swim4freedom2014 (please have them add your name in the comments box so we know who they are supporting) – as always all of the money goes to the SOWF www.specialops.org .
Please remember that every swimmer needs a support boat (of some type) with them at all times for the entire swim. As in years past I will do my best to help find support boats/drivers for those that need it but I cannot guarantee this for everyone so the earlier you can let me know the better chance I will have of finding you support. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
The details of the event are the same as last year – sign in at Gordy’s Boat House at 5am, boat shuttle down to Lake Geneva Beach at 5:45am, swim start at 6:00am (we will take a team photo on the beach just before the swim start), finish between Gordy’s fork pier and Sales pier – beer and brats waiting at the finish.
Thanks again for those of you that have supported this event in the past. We look forward to seeing many of you back again this coming Aug. More and more people have been putting relay’s together for the swim and this has not only been a lot of fun but also opened the door for many people that want to participate but are not up for 8 miles solo. We are looking forward to another fun swim to support a great cause and we hope you can join us.
