Strong Performances Finals Day 1

Schroeder swam very well in the finals of the first day of the 2014 National YMCA Swimming Championships!

Highlights:  Ashlyn Schoof started the evening session by dropping about half a second in the consolation final of the 100 fly to 55.00.  Nick Petersen won the 100 fly title with an outstanding effort!  After a strong first 50 where he turned 4th, Nick got it home and touched first and joined a great fraternity of National YMCA Champions at 48.1!  Gwen Worlton swam a brilliant 200 breast breaking her own team record with a 2:14.57 and then Alex Meyers swam a perfect race to finish 6th in the 50 with a 23.20 and a personal best.

Schroeder's women raced to 7th place in the 4 x 50 Fr Relay - Alex 23.2, Ashlyn 23.2, Carolyn Jungers 24.0 and Jade Knueppel finshed with at 24.2 for a total time of 1:34.94.

The meet moves to day 2 with lots of good scoring opportunities ahead!  Unfortunately scroes are not available so we are assuming that we are winning.
