Masters LCM State Meet Results

Results from the June 23rd LCM Meet at Schroeder have been posted on the www.swim-wimasters.org website with a link on the home page under the news topic and the same link under the Events and Results tab.

Results have also been added to the USMS Event Rankings and Individual Results web pages.  All results are reported upwards to USMS for Top Ten consideration.  USMS will report times to the FINA Top Ten recorder.

Next week, the results will also be updated on www.swimphone.com and on Meet Mobile.

There were new Wisconsin records set at the meet.  A complete list of the Wisconsin records will be added to the Wisconsin Masters website after this weekend.  I do know of a few records that were mentioned to me.  Barry Mandel, swimming in his first ever LCM meet, swam to new records in the Men’s 60-64 50M freestyle and 100M freestyle.  The Men’s 240-289 Medley Relay team composed of Kevin Welton, Jim Dannenberg, Brad Horner and Dean Fochios swam new Wisconsin records in both the 200M and 400M medley relay distances.  In fact, the Men’s 240-289 400M Medley Relay swam to a 4:54.77 which is the 2nd fastest time ever in that event worldwide.  Congrats to everyone who swam to new Wisconsin records.

In all, we had 91 swimmers register for the meet.  We had 334 individual events and 30 relays.  The youngest relays were the under 25 guys who swam in the 72-99 age group.  The oldest relays were the 80+ guys who swam in the 320-369 age group.  It is absolutely great to see the spectrum of age range from 21 to 85 at this meet.

Thanks for participating at the meet.  Whatever your goals, whether sprinting, distance or relays, I saw everyone swimming with great enthusiasm.  It was fun coming together in swimming pursuits this summer in a fast pool of quality equivalent to pools used for USMS nationals.  I enjoyed my swims even though I had the brace on my wrist to protect it after broken wrist surgery.  I hope you enjoyed yours and had the times you were seeking.

If you lent a hand as a timer for the meet, I thank you also.  During the whole meet, we had two backup buttons and two backup watches on every lane.  The timers were excellent and accurate.

And, if you were from another LMSC, we hope you liked the meet and will think about coming to another Wisconsin meet
