Olympian Gwen Checks in From Australia

Check out where I swam this morning!

Not much is new with me.  I am loving my new coach and having people to train with every day. And the weather could not get any nicer! It's started to cool off a bit so it's about 50 during the nights, and then 70s during the day...perfect for sleeping and then training. Training is hard and there isn't much I do besides train three to four times a day, eat, and recover. I get lonely sometimes, so having pat here is a lifesaver. Pat is having a good time as well, he races about three times a week and has really plugged in to the cycling community here so he's always having coffee with someone. He has been spoiling me , I come home from a workout and he has lunch or dinner all made. It's fabulous, especially after a really hard training session. I've been swimming a lot...8 times a week some weeks...thinking and missing everyone at WSAC

I fly to Auckland on April 3, racing April 6.   Then I fly to San Diego on April 7 and stay there through the 25. I am racing two races in San Diego, one on 4/19, one on 4/24, then I get to head home to mn for ten days! Boy am I looking forward to seeing some friends and the food in mn! I miss the food so much as here there isn't great food...and no Mexican food to be found. We eat mainly rice....pat and I have gone through more than 20kg/44lbs of rice! Haha lots of curries!

Talk soon,
