Mania & Friedemann Do Not Advance
All of the optimism evaporated quickly after two disappointing swims in tonight's semi-final of the Men's 100 M Back event at the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Trials. Mitchell got off to a great start and looked relaxed and smooth. After the turn (26.50) Mitchell wasn't able to finish strong enough and went 55.25. Adam was up next and he just over corrected from the morning. Adam was out relaxed but too much so at 27.28 and while he swam well on the 2nd 50 he was only able to go 55.40. Both men know they are capable of better swims and it is disappointing. They are great athletes and champions and we are all proud of their efforts. Day off for SSTY tomorrow.
