Former Schroeder swimmer Lindsay Correll was recently married and will be moving to Milwaukee area and she'll be coaching at Schroeder in June.
and from Melissa Kelley:
Hi Dave!
I hope you and your family are doing well.
I just got back from my first Boston Marathon. I have to say that it was probably the hardest race of my entire life. That course is brutal and I definitely was not very prepared for all of the hills. I died hard the last 2 miles. Regardless, it was a great experience and I surprisingly shaved quite a bit of time from my Chicago performance finishing with a 3:16.
You can check out the results here if you want: http://www.bostonmarathon.org/2009/cf/Public/TrackingIndividual.cfm?mode=multipleBegin
I was just excited to share my finish with my old coach. :)
To add to the emotion and excitement of the day, my boyfriend, Mike, proposed to me after the race. Looks like Ed has 2 weddings within a year, ha!
Hope to hear from you soon - take care,
Mel. |

Spring 2009 Alumni Newsletter |
|
Hey Schroeder Alum! I am planning to make a recognition wall at the pool recognizing you and where you went to college. Each school will have a list of athletes. For example:
University of Wisconsin - Madison
Jenny Will 2003 - 2007
Joe Ebingner 2002 - 2006
Scott Silvestri 1987 - 1990
Would you please complete my form and direct your friends to connect up as well?
Fill out my form!
Everything is going very well at Schroeder. The pool is looking great after the renovations this fall. Our team has grown and the athletes are doing very well across all age groups. Matt and I are quite optimistic about our prospects and we have been working hard to retain our members, increase the programs we offer at Schroeder and pursue outside funding sources to help offset the expenses related to keeping your favorite pool up and running.

Nennig Named League Swimmer of the Week |
Milwaukee Women Sweep Horizon League Weekly Awards
MILWAUKEE (Dec. 10, 2008) - Senior Ashley Hall and junior Bailey Nennig of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming & diving team have swept the Horizon League weekly women's awards, the league office announced today.
Hall was named the Horizon League Diver of the Week and Nennig was tabbed for Horizon League Swimmer of the Week. The honors are the fourth and fifth the team has received so far this season. It marks a career-first for Nennig, while the honor is the third for Hall this year - and seventh of her career - all coming since the start of last season after she transferred to UWM.
Hall had a solid performance at the eight-team Falcon Invitational last weekend. She won the one-meter event with a score of 251.20 points and took third-place on the three-meter board with a mark of 254.65.
Nennig had a great all-around performance at the same meet, helping the Panthers to the team title in the multi-team invitational. She was victorious in both the 200 (2:07.12) and 400 individual medleys (4:30.33), as well as fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.18). All three times are the fastest in the Horizon League so far this season. Nennig also competed on three Panther relay squads.
